On this page we provide extracts from the Bible which we hope to update
regularly along with links to the Bible available online. We firmly believe
that the Bible is the Holy, inerrant Word of God, written down by men who were
chosen by God to write as the Holy Spirit led them (2 Peter 1:21). The Bible
teaches the truths of the Gospel and points the reader to the Lord Jesus Christ
and the salvation from sin that is in Him and Him alone. Read what William
Huntington has to say about The Excellencies of the
Bible.
"Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the
LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of
sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his
reward.
As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed,
but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."
Psalm 127

The Authorative Nature of Scripture
A number of articles describing the Divine inspiration, inerrancy and
preservation of the written word of God contained in the 39 books of the Old
Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament scriptures can be read on the
Trinitarian Bible Society website. See also
"The word of the Lord endureth for ever".
We highly recommend reading these articles which rightly defend the authorative
nature of the scriptures and the importance of defending the faithful
translation of the word of God - as we live in a day when the authority
(or more correctly, the authorative nature, God being the authority, and
His word being authorative) and inerrancy of the scriptures are under
constant attack by those who would profess themselves to be wise, and yet have
become fools (Romans 1:22). We are told that in the latter days there shall
arise many who mock and scorn those things spoken by Christ, the apostles and
the prophets (2 Peter 3:1-4) and we know that Satan has from the very
beginning cried "Yea, hath God said...?" (Genesis 3:1) and continues to sow the
same seed of doubt today. The proliferation in recent years of an increasing
number of English translations of the Bible based upon inferior Greek
manuscripts to those upon which the Authorised Version is based have only
served to increase the confusion of many. But thanks be unto God that He HAS
preserved His Word throughout the generations and continues to send forth
preachers to declare its message of Christ and Him Crucified, that message
which Christ Himself declared to be taught throughout scripture: "O fools, and
slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not Christ to
have suffered these things, and to have entered into his glory? And beginning
at Moses, and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures
the things concerning himself" Luke 24:25-27.
"And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to
make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God
may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." 2 Timothy 3:15-17.
"The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it"
Psalm 68:11.
The complete Authorised Version of the Bible is available as a Windows Help
file which can be downloaded from
Grace Gospel Software. If you wish to hear the Bible in audio you may

Reading of the KJV Bible in Real Audio format at this Website.
The "Bible Gateway" below allows you to search for words and phrases in the
Bible using various "versions" and languages. You can also read specified
chapters or passages, for example enter John 15 into the Passage box and click
on 'Lookup' to read that chapter. (Note: Out of the English Bible "versions"
provided we can only really recommend the KJV (Authorised Version) as it is a
translation based upon the sound Textus Receptus Greek text which the Lord has
blessed over many years. Most other English translations are based on a
different Greek text which cannot be relied upon.)

Christ." John 1:17
